Heather Mills McCartney

Right. I'm beginning to wonder about her. She seemed so nice when I saw her a couple years ago on Larry King, but I've heard Paul's kids don't really like her, despite the fact that she reminds him of Linda. Could it be that he's using her as a substitute. I didn't think this way before. I just figured Stella, Donald, and James were having trouble adjusting to a mother who's not much older than they are, but you'd think, considering they're all adults, they'd be above such immaturities. Then I read in Blender that Heather was trying to get Paul to quit smoking marijuana because "it's a gateway drug that can also lead to such disorders as schizophrenia". Right. First off, that whole "gateway drug" thing is bullshit. The only reason people think that is because marijuana is generally the easiest drug to get, eventually some who've tried it come into opportunity to use other, much worse things, but the fact is that they would have tried them anyway, whether or not they ever touched pot. If anyone knows about this, it's me. I'm an avid fan of Miss Maryjane, and have a number of friends who feel the same way, but all of us agree taking anything else is just too dangerous. Another good example is 311. All but one band member enjoys weed on a regular basis, but they all strongly urge their listeners not to try heroine, cocaine, or any other such life wreckers. The schizophrenia thing is a new one to me, and it makes about as much sense as the "gateway" theory. For one thing, schizophrenia is generally biological in nature. It is possible for outside stimulate to cause it, and, conceivably, I suppose it's possible for one to develop it from abusing (key word there) marijuana, but one would have to get stoned out of their gourd every day, all day, for like fifty years. Believe it or not, The vast majority of pot users have other things to do besides getting stoned constantly, and I'm sure Paul doesn't have time for that (or would do it even if he did). If he hasn't developed a brain altering sickness by now, continuing to smoke cannabis is never going to give him any problems. Heather joked that if Paul didn't quit, she'd leave him. I just hope she was joking about everything else as well.
