Pitbulls

Okay, let me just say that all that talk about pitbulls being unpredictable, is complete b/s, and it it really frustrates me. I don't care what anyone says. Pitbulls are NOT vicious dogs, and they will not just suddenly snap, unless, perhaps, they were bred in a puppy mill, but any dog from a horror house like that can have ill tempered genes mixed in. It has nothing to do with the breed. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If you get a pitbull from a reputable breeder, or a legitimate rescue agency, and treat them well, he or she will be a wonderful, loving pet. I guarantee that any time you hear of a pitbull attacking someone, the dog was either overtrained (watch dog training in particular can be a terrible culprit, no dog ever needs to be trained to protect his or her territory, and to do so is a gross act of over compensation,) provoked, abused, or ill-bred, but because pitbulls are the dogs most often used for fighting, people assume they are naturally vicious, but the opposite is true. The breed is generally very gentle, great with kids, and reluctant to attack humans (cats or squirrels, maybe-not that I'd actually allow this-, but hey, they're dogs).
