S&H, Review

The following is my review for the film 'Starsky & Hutch' (WARNING: Spoilers):

First and foremost, this movie was all I expected, tottally silly, but with an overall great storyline, and real heart.

The movie starts with Reese Feldman (played by Vince Vaughn) offs a "business partner" on his yacht. We are then introduced to David Starsky and Ken Hutchison, in turn, who are made partners, then discover the body of the murdered man, which ultimately leads to the discovery of a narcotics ring involving a new type of cocaine, which is untraceable (and evidently has the added "bonus" of being a hallucinogen), and a major drug bust.

Starsky and Hutch are helped along the way by a number of memorable characters, including Huggy Bear (wonderfully portrayed , by Snoop Dogg), an influential kingpin with a penchant for nice cars and being a walking dictionary, and cheerleaders Holly and Stacy (played by Amy Smart, and Carmen Electra, respectively). The film marks the return of Juliette Lewis (playing Kitty) to the screen, whom, although inevitably typecast, does a nice job. Plus we get a bonus, hilarious cameo performance by Will Ferrell, and a couple other last minute surprises.

Fast paced and fun (with a delightfully generous helping of sexual humour), this movie gets a definite thumbs up, in my book.
